School, as we know it, was designed in 1893. How do we make it better?

Many high schools today are unable to respond to the changes happening outside the walls of education and continue to graduate students with skills that do not match the needs of society. In an effort to do better for our children, Bennett Day has partnered with time-tested and data-driven organizations—such as High Tech High, IvyWise College Admissions Counseling, Academic Approach Test Prep, and Stanford University’s Project Wayfinder—to build an Upper School centered on authentic learning that is deeply purposeful, personalized, and project-based. Learn more about our program by visiting our Upper School website. We are excited to formally announce one such partnership that we believe will benefit our Upper School families for years to come.

Bennett Day School is the only school in Illinois to receive the “New School Creation Fellowship” from High Tech High.

High Tech High is a California-based network of schools featured in the acclaimed documentary, Most Likely to Succeed. High Tech High is dedicated to designing and launching new schools focused on equity and deeper project-based learning. New School Creation Fellows are supported in leadership development, school design and new school start up. Bennett Day Upper School will work directly with High Tech High to ensure that our students receive purposeful, challenging, and authentic project-based learning opportunities that will never leave them asking, “Why are we doing this?” We look forward to witnessing the substantive, life-worthy work that students will achieve through this partnership.
