Our Senior Spotlight campaign honors Bennett Day School’s first graduating class – a group of earnest and courageous students who took a chance on a high school that didn’t even exist yet.
Throughout the last four years, these students have proven time and time again that young people are innately capable, curious, and competent, especially when they feel seen and heard at school.
Stay tuned between now and the end of the school year as we give each senior an opportunity to share memories, advice, and future plans!
Senior Spotlight: Camden
Why did you choose/decide to go to Bennett Day School?
I ultimately chose Bennett because of the flexibility it offered for my hockey schedule. Given that I frequently traveled for hockey tournaments during my time here, I greatly appreciated the understanding and support from the teachers. They were always willing to help me stay on track by planning ahead for the days I would be out of town, which made balancing academics and athletics much easier.
What are your plans after you graduate?
My plan for the next two years is that I will be playing hockey for the Buffalo Jr Sabres, in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). Then, I hope to get recruited to play in college and continue my education.
What advice would you give rising seniors?
While it’s important to focus on your future, don’t forget to enjoy your senior year. This is a time to create lasting memories with your friends and family and to celebrate all the hard work you’ve done throughout high school. Make sure you take time to have fun and appreciate the moment.
What’s your favorite project-based learning (PBL) memory?
One of the most memorable experiences from PBL was Junior year third trimester, where my peers and I dove into studying the Justice System. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to interact and engage with experts in the field who provided us with invaluable insights into the workings of the justice system.
What are you excited for after Bennett?
I’m excited to step up my hockey training and experience the Junior Hockey lifestyle.
